Competitions and tournaments

Competition

Vertigo participates in the national ultimate frisbee competition. This competition consists of 3 seasons and can be organised anywhere in the Netherlands (also in Eindhoven). A season normally consists of one competition day every month. This comes down to about 3 to 4 competition days per season. On a competition day you play multiple games to ensure we have a full day of fun Ultimate games!

Winter season (November till February)

During the winter season there are two indoor competitions Vertigo participates in. All indoor competitions are played 5×5 in a sports hall. As a consequence the fields are also a lot smaller which makes for very fun and dynamic games.

The two competitions we participate in are:

  • Indoor open competition

The open competition is open to all players.

  • Indoor Womens’* competition

This competition is only for female* players.

Spring season (March till June)

The spring outdoor season is from March till June. This season has two outdoor competitions both 7×7:

  • Outdoor open competition

The open competition is open to all players.

  • Womens’* competition

This competition is only for female* players.

Autumn season (September till October)

The autumn season is from September till October. This season has two outdoor competitions. A mixed competition which is 7×7 on a full field and the Randstad competition which is 5×5 , which is on a half field:

  • Mixed outdoor competition

This competition is open to all players. On the field the player gender balance needs to consist of 3 female-matching players and 4 male-matching players or 4 female-matching players and 3 male-matching players.

  • Randstad outdoor competition

This competition is open to all players like the open competition. This competition always takes place in the Randstad area on half sized fields.

*Including non-binary and trans individuals following the Dutch National Frisbee Federation.

Tournaments

Most frisbee associations organise stand alone tournaments where you can compete against other teams. Tournaments are mostly either one day or a full weekend. There are tournaments focused on beginners, others more on experienced players. Plenty of tournaments are also for players of any level. There are also some HAT tournaments where you can subscribe individually and the organisation will make the teams.

Depending on the season these tournaments can be either indoor or outdoor and during the summer some beach tournaments are organised.
